How is it, then, that when we begin to carry out our plans, our thoughts are suddenly as clean as a new sheet of paper? What if we miss the magic window of New Year’s resolutions? How can we make the changes we want if we don’t even know where to start! For someone who writes for a living, this happens to me far more often than I’d like to admit. There are days when the words flow like a river across a page, other days when I have no paper or pencil handy and desperately try to capture the inspiration in my head in hopes of making magic out of it later. But some days, when I look at the screen, there’s just nothing there. ….
Yoga is not only a great way to get the body moving, but also a fantastic approach to activate our inner energy, change our mindset and open us up to creative inspiration and positive energy. When our breath, body and mind come into balance through the practice of yoga, our ideas and thoughts also change. Being able to clear your mind of unnecessary chatter and focus solely on yourself and your practice can greatly ease the flow of energy and thoughts. Remember your last yoga session and the feeling of absolute peace and potency that coursed through your veins? It is one of the most incredible feelings to come out of savasana after a wonderful practice and feel alive, energized and inspired, and that feeling lasts all day. Yoga gives you a dreamy glow that inspires you to suddenly make a breakthrough in your latest project, as if a cloud has lifted and light has shone through it! If you’re looking for a way to clear the cobwebs from your mind, become the person you want to be in the world, and make room for new ideas, try these six yoga poses to bring creativity into your world.
1. Creating children
Credit : Anna Coventry You can’t force creativity. Sometimes you just need to relax, take a break and let the wisdom flow naturally. The child’s pose invites you to relax and press your forehead against the floor or a block, lengthening the spine and creating space in the vertebrae. She asks you to put your hands next to your ears, block out the view and create a safe haven where you can just be. You will be alone with the sound of your own breathing – the perfect time to relax and quiet your mind.
2. Pigeon loft
We store emotions in our hips, so postures like the dove pose can help people release a lot of negative emotions. The hips and pelvis are also a center of creativity. This part of the body corresponds to the second chakra, which represents our reproductive, sexual and creative energy.
3. Eagle pose
I like to do this hip warm-up when I feel a creative block. As a bonus, it’s also a shoulder stretch. The neck and shoulders can be very tense. The eagle is therefore an excellent tool for relieving both tension and worry that can prevent us from expressing ourselves. This pose is one of the best aphrodisiacs in yoga because the blood flows directly to the groin, and as soon as the pose is released, the energy follows!
4. Installation of the crescent
Because all parts of the body must work together here, this posture brings harmony to the whole body, a sense of calm, balance and strength, and requires a full opening of the body from chest to hips. An open body is an open mind. This pose tells your body and mind that you can and will do it!

6. Pear tree
There is something incredibly earthy about the pear tree. It offers a fresh perspective, which is very important for creativity. Moreover, this position provides extra oxygen and nutrients for the brain. Sometimes, when we are desperate for answers to pressing questions, we have to turn ourselves inside out to think clearly and see things. By practicing this posture and focusing on the breath, everything becomes clearer and we become more balanced and powerful. Use your breath to imagine unity and clarity, and feel the creative juices flow! If you let go of expectations, control and testing and just be, the universe will give you its messages!
