What kind of yoga do you teach at Yoga NoMa?

Although we offer a variety of classes taught by teachers from different backgrounds, our main intention is to keep the levels of yoga, meditation and dance accessible to everyone.

What do you think makes your studio special?

NoMa Yoga is not trying to sell you anything. If we could, we would give away this wonderful practice because we truly believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of yoga and meditation.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

It’s funny and surprising, but DC – despite its working-class reputation – is actually one of the most amazing, honest and dedicated yoga communities I’ve come across. A network of studios really works together to support this still thriving community.

What kind of yoga do you teach at Down Dog Yoga?

First of all, the old school Baptist Power Vinyasa.

What do you think makes your studio special?

Down Dog Yoga was one of the very first studios in the DC metropolitan area, and we’ve been there for over 13 years. We have an incredible, inspiring and thriving community of yogis from all walks of life, and our teachers are some of the best in the country.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

Yes, of course! The yoga community in Washington DC is one of the largest and strongest in the country.

What types of yoga do you teach at Yoga Heights?

Yoga Heights offers an incredibly varied schedule of classes. Classes range from Yin Yoga and Sivananda to Power Yoga and Fusion Flow (a unique combination of yoga, martial arts and HIIT). We also offer pilates, rocket yoga, modern dance and an excellent beginner yoga class.

What do you think makes your studio special?

Our studio is special because it is a community. We would not be where we are without our amazing students, assistants and teachers. The accessibility, affordability and acceptance of our classes, teachers, staff and students make Yoga Heights the home of yoga for all bodies, levels and budgets.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

The yoga community in Washington continues to grow and strengthen. You will find students spending time in different studios exploring their practice. Teachers also often organize classes in the city. We believe this meets our community’s desire to help people live healthier, less stressful and more balanced lives in a busy, hectic metropolis.

What types of yoga do you teach at Be Here Now Yoga?

At Be Here Now Yoga, we teach many different styles of yoga, including but not limited to: Dharma, Power, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Forrest, Yin, Gentle, Restorative and Nidra. We also organize workshops on other types of yoga, such as Kundalini, Kriya and Acro yoga.

What do you think makes your studio special?

At Be Here Now, our goal is to nurture a community of practitioners who are ready to discover their personal truth. At the end of each class, we remind all students that they are part of our community, whether they came to class as a regular, a member, or otherwise. The room is theirs. Ultimately, we strive to create a family that extends far beyond the walls of our studio, where everyone is welcomed with open arms and no strings attached.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

Washington, DC has an active yoga community with many wonderful studios. Many Be Here Now instructors also teach in other studios. However, day-to-day interaction between the studios and management and studio owners is minimal. We believe there is enough yoga for everyone, and we are always open and excited to collaborate with other studios to bring yoga, a practice and a way of life that has had a profound impact on us.

What types of yoga do you teach at Body & Brain?

At Body & Brain, we teach our own style of yoga. Our breathing and energy practices are based on East Asian healing philosophy and are therefore very different from traditional Indian yoga. We do NOT emphasize holding traditional yoga postures such as. B. the dog looking down. Instead, we guide practitioners to control and store energy through the breath.

What do you think makes your studio special?

As soon as you step into one of our studios, you will feel a whole new bright and sparkling energy. It is the perfect environment to relax and unwind after a stressful day at work, or to start your morning with positive energy!

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

Yoga is such a popular exercise these days that I think everyone has tried some form of yoga. With this influence, yoga studios must work together to not only bring physical health to those in the community, but also to promote the emotional and spiritual well-being of their clients. Body & Brain has 11 centers in D.C., Maryland and Virginia, and we are working together in this field to not only improve the physical health of our members, but also to raise the collective consciousness of our community.

What kind of yoga do you teach at Embrace Yoga?

Embrace Yoga DC is a vinyasa-inspired yoga studio that also offers a wide range of services, including restorative yoga, meditation and yoga nidra. We are also a teacher training studio.

What do you think makes your studio special?

What makes Embrace special is that we are the only yoga studio that is multicultural and very diverse. People come from all walks of life, and all feel welcome and comfortable to train in this colorful and warm loft.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

Love is my only option! The DC yoga community has grown very quickly in recent years, and there have been times when studios have collaborated outside of DC Yoga Week. We believe yoga is for everyone, so we also work with local and regional businesses that are not part of the yoga community.

What kind of yoga do you teach at Yoga Del Sol?

At Yoga Del Sol we practice a unique moving meditation, based on ancient yoga techniques, that aims to integrate the whole person – body, mind and spirit. The breath accompanies each movement and challenges the body and mind in new ways. Meditative visualizations promote overall strength, health and vitality.

What do you think makes your studio special?

We provide students with individual attention and care, helping them to refocus and excel. Many students have reported that regular classes at Yoga Del Sol have changed their lives and helped them feel rejuvenated, strong and healthy. The studio is also an ideal and soothing place to relax from the hectic lifestyle that many students lead.

Do you feel that because of events like DC Yoga Week, the yoga community in DC is strong between studios?

After living in Washington DC for almost four years, Yoga Del Sol is happy to be part of the yoga community in the Washington area. We see the community growing every year, with new studios offering different styles of yoga and master teachers coming to the area to teach special workshops.
