The essential guidelines of a healthy lifestyle are the same for everyone: eat a healthy diet, get enough sleep, exercise, and take care of your body. But what if there’s more to a healthy lifestyle than that?
I’ve been able to find a few yoga videos on YouTube that are pretty good. I’m not saying that Yogi B is the best at yoga but he is certainly one of the most inspirational ones I have seen.
When I started this blog, I was going to be the one writing about yoga and health. While I still do post on the topic, I also wanted to begin to train some members of the community by hosting a series of interviews with local yogis who are practicing and teaching yoga.
Brain and Kathy McCarthy, who live in Santa Monica, California, have been married for 29 years. The Root Board was first conceived in March 2020, at the commencement of the Covid-19 quarantine.
Brian and Kathy, like many others at the time, were newly jobless, with plenty of time on their hands and plenty of incentive for self-reflection and contemplation of life’s next steps. Kathy’s yoga practice was slipping away, which made the situation much more difficult. The distractions of being at home, as well as the instability of the mat on the carpet, hampered her yoga practice to the point that she couldn’t get the same physical and mental relief that she’d grown to expect.
It’s critical to quiet the mind, concentrate, breathe, and land your peak position in yoga, and yogis need a distraction-free environment to do so. Improving Kathy’s yoga studio became a family effort.
The first stage was to locate serenity in a tiny living room with floor-to-ceiling carpeting. Brian developed and constructed a sturdy bamboo yoga platform that tactilely reproduced the feeling of a yoga studio via trial and error. It improved her practice significantly and quickly, laying the groundwork for a fantastic wellness center.
The Root Board has been a family effort to bring to market. The board’s engineering, brand “voice,” and design were all developed with the assistance of their brilliant children, Clara, Maggie, and Kellan. We’re a tiny company with a big heart, and we’re ecstatic to introduce The Root Board to our yoga community.
The Root Board is an important tool for your yoga practice, whether you do it at home or in a group setting. The Root Board is a lovely bamboo platform on which to roll out your mat, designed by yogis for yogis. Stabilize your flow, hit your peak position, and squeeze every last drop of goodness from your practice.
Yoga may be done anywhere.

The “yogishopee” blog is a place for a collection of yoga posts to be published “when inspiration strikes” . This is often one of my favorite posts because of the title, as this is the first time I get to share the story behind the creation of this blog. It’s a story that I hope inspires others to take the next step towards a new path in life, and one that I hope makes you smile.. Read more about yoga board and let us know what you think.
